Rosenthal studio-line tac , platinum: Contrast between matt and glossy surface
The classical graphic design of the Rosenthal studio-line, tac, emphasizes on the outlining design features. The decor is about the structure in combination with the contrast between matt and glossy surfaces . An idea, walter gropius followed in his first draft. On the flat surfaces a relief is created by a sand-blasting technique. Hollow pieces such as the teapot are given a velvety matt finish by etching. Small leaves, one laid above the other, result in a platinum colored mosaic that extends over all of the plate, as well as a highlighted contour on the edge of the plate. The decor is perfectly compatible to tac skin-platin and tac white.
